The Western sanctions have failed to undermine the Russian military production. This implies that both the targeting, and implementation of sanction regime have been wrong.
It is highly plausible that their design has not been based on any thorough understanding of the Russian military manufacturing base, its rationales and tradeoffs, bottlenecks and chokepoints. To efficiently target the military production chain, you must understand how it is organized. Now the latter requires a serious OSINT investigation.
And that is what we did. The Rhodus Intelligence investigation “How does Russia make missiles?”covers four defense corporations of Roscosmos, Tactical Missiles, Almaz-Antey and Rostec. We examined 28 enterprises producing the key ballistic, cruise, anti-ship and air defense missiles.
Based on a broad range of sources, we have built a representative picture of the manufacturing base supporting the Russian nuclear/nonnuclear deterrence system. Most important of all, we reconstructed the logic and rationales behind it.
